Former Music & Technology Teacher
Serena Robinett's Resume |
I am currently an Education Specialist at Soundtrap for Education. I work with districts, schools, and teachers to support them in utilizing Soundtrap in their classrooms. I aim to support teachers and students in developing their creativity and sharing their individual voices by using Soundtrap.
Prior to Soundtrap, I taught technology to 6-8 grade students at PS 161 Don Pedro Albizu Campos. Students learned to be digital citizens, knowledge constructors, innovative designers, computational thinkers, creative communicators, global collaborators, and empowered learners.
I also taught beginning instrumental music at Robert A Van Wyck Middle School 217 in Jamaica, Queens. In 6th grade, students learned to play modern band instruments using a curriculum I created using Music Will resources. My 7th and 8th grade students learned music literacy and beginning western classical instruments. Students also learned music history, digital music, and formed chamber ensembles.
Below is a sample of my Instrumental Music curriculum, and presentation on using tech in the arts. Feel free to look at them and observe the work I do.
